At PayRewards, we understand that circumstances may change and a payment may need to be canceled.
When can a payment be canceled?
A payment may be canceled if it's an unprocessed Scheduled Payment or if it's still in Pending status.
Scheduled Payments
If a payment is scheduled for a future date, it may be canceled by the user at any time before the scheduled processing date.
To cancel a scheduled payment:
- Navigate to Scheduled Payments
- Locate the payment to be canceled
- Select the ellipsis (⋯) to the right of the payment
- Select Cancel and Remove
- Confirm by selecting Cancel and Remove in the pop-up window
Note: You must be either an Account Owner, Administrator, or a Manager to initiate a cancellation.
Pending Transactions
If a payment appears in the Transactions dashboard with a status of Pending, it has not yet been executed. In these cases, the PayRewards team may be able to cancel the payment on your behalf.
To request cancellation of a pending transaction, please contact PayRewards Support as soon as possible.
What if my payment is already Processing?
Payments with a status of Processing have already been executed and can no longer be canceled.
If funds have not yet been remitted to the payee, a refund may be requested. PayRewards can initiate the refund once the funds have settled with us.
Estimated settlement timeframes:
- Card payments: 1–3 business days
- ACH/bank transfers: Up to 5 business days
Please note that refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed.
