Only the Account Owner can configure custom authorization rules for an account. If the user is not the Account Owner, the Account Owner must set up custom authorization rules for them.
Creating Custom Authorization Rules
Navigate to Settings → Payments
Select the payment type: Vendor payments or Payroll payments
-
Choose whether rules apply to:
All payments, or
Payments above a limit
Select the user(s) or user group(s) required to provide the first authorization
If multiple users or a group is selected at any step, only one user in that step is required to authorize before the payment advances to the next step (if applicable).
Adding Additional Authorization Steps
Select Require another authorization
Choose the user(s) or user group(s) for the next authorization step
The same rule applies: when more than one user is listed in a step, only one authorization is required for that step.
When all authorization steps have been configured, select Save
Applying Rules to Different Payment Types
If authorization rules are required for both Vendor and Payroll payments, repeat the above process for the second payment type
If the same rule should apply to both, configure one group of rules and then select Apply settings from other group to duplicate the configuration
